FSC for what?

FSC means Forest Stewardship Council. The definition of this certification is:

“FSC is an international certification and labeling system that guarantees that the forest products you purchase come from responsibly managed forests and verified recycled sources.

Under FSC certification, forests are certified against a set of strict environmental and social standards, and fiber from certified forests is tracked all the way to the consumer through the chain of custody certification system. The end result is products in the marketplace carrying the FSC ‘check-tree’ logo.

FSC certification is a voluntary and market-based mechanism for ensuring that our forests are healthy. Consumer demand for FSC-certified products encourages forest managers and owners to become FSC-certified. Independent third-party auditors conduct all FSC certification audits.”

That’s mean also when you choose your printer paper or your business card support; try to take one with this logo on it. I already write an article about a Green Printer we have here in Ottawa but I pretty sure you can find one near to your home or find one online. For example, you have:

Make a Google Search for “Green Printer” and you will certainly find one near to your home. Remember, do business locally.

You can find more information on FSC Canada here and FSC United States here.
