John Lander is a freelance photographer based in Japan with a passion for Japanese gardens, zen gardens, onsen, Japanese cuisine and festivals. John’s credits include photos and articles published by Travel+Leisure, Asian Geographic, Forbes, Camping Life, The Japan Times, The Toronto Star, The Australian among many others. Other clients include Twentieth Century Fox, Hachette Media, Asahi Press, Readers Digest and McGraw-Hill.
John tries to save on printing ink, paper by sending out clients electronic PDFs of index sheets; walk or cycle to locations or use public transportation. Recent years have been cutting back gradually on air travel, staying “local” as much as possible.
